The alerts and notifications you can get vary by device and whether you have an Aware subscription or not. Tap the switch to enable or disable away-only notifications. When this is on, you can only receive camera alerts when your home is set to Away mode so you won't be disturbed by notifications when someone is at home. For steps on how to enable notifications for your camera, or change which kinds of alerts you get, go to the app you use to control your camera. Make the notification request call using the devices.reportStateAndNotification API. Your JSON request must include an eventId, which is a unique ID generated by your platform for the event triggering the notification.
Apart from displaying these alerts on your Android phone, Google can send them to your Wear OS watch too. Familiar face detection can teach your Nest camera how to tell the difference between the faces you know and don't know. Over time, it can start to recognize people you know and send you more helpful alerts. For more information, go to Familiar face detection.

In the GCP Console, go to the Create service account key page. Traits Browse the complete list of available device traits, which encapsulate functionality for a device type. For example, you might want to have us send the monthly Nest Home Report to your own email address, but your spouse doesn't want to get it at their email address.
When device events occur, your Action fulfilment sends a notification request to Google. The device traits that your smart home Action supports determines what types of notification events are available and the data you can include in those notifications. Older smoke and carbon monoxide alarm and glass breaking events will move underRecent events in the Feed. The Google Home app can notify you of a variety of home and device updates such as new home members, account changes, product updates, and device specific notifications.
How to use Sound Notifications
Critical alerts let you know about important events, like a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm, even if your phone's volume is set to low and you've turned on Do Not Disturb. To receive critical alerts from Google Nest, you'll need to turn them on both in General notifications in the Home app and in your phone's settings. If your display or speaker detects a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm and the event is In progress, it will show up at the top of the Home app. The ongoing sound detection event will be at the top of the Feed. With sound detection, your speaker or display can notify you when it detects the sound of any smoke or carbon monoxide alarm or glass breaking, even when you’re away from home. Your speaker or display can also let you know when it detects glass breaking in your home.
That way you can continue to get alerts about critical sounds even when you are asleep, a concern shared by many in the deaf and hard of hearing community. Sound Notifications is a new feature on Android that provides push notifications for critical sounds around you. This feature can also be helpful if someone is unable to hear temporarily as a result of an injury, wearing earplugs or headphones. This option applies to Wear OS watches and some other wearables. You might need to change your wearable notification settings. If you can't receive notifications, check the help documentation for your wearable device.
NodeRED for beginners: 1. Why do you need a NodeRED server?
Right now I can only make my dome speaker to make a chime sound. Your Google device will confirm that the alarm is cancelled. Hey Google, set an April O’Neil alarm for 8 AM every day of the week. Or “Ok, Google, set Bach music alarm for 6 AM every day”. Your camera can also notify you when it has technical issues, such as when it goes offline.
This way you can disable all the notification with a single command issued from any device. As before the information has to be submitted via HTTP POST. When you decide which sort of notification you want, you need to create an audio file that will let you know what the notification is. I chose the latter because hearing a recording of myself saying I'd missed a call was strange, to say the least.
You can link this action to any event, keyboard shortcut, macro etc. You are probably aware of my love for NodeRED. I’m running a NodeRED server on Raspberry Pi Zero connected to my network. If you don’t have the microcontroller yet, trust me – this is going to be the best $5 spent ever! Just see my other tutorials and you will know what this combo (RPI+NodeRED) is capable of. Receive expert tips on using phones, computers, smart home gear and more.
I’m trying to figure out how to install Asisstant Relay. I’ve got a Synology NAS with Docker and was able to deploy a node.js container. I mainly use it security camera recording and that’s why it runs all the time. That’s why it is also perfect for Google Relay use.
Eligible customers can sign up for Rush Hour Rewards with their energy provider. You can turn off Safety Temperatures if you don't want to receive these notifications. But if you do, your thermostat won't help protect your home from extreme temperatures when you're gone.
I like the fact that I'm able to use GA's voice for TTS as opposed to Hubitat's. I may have installed it just before you pulled it. The list of characters might be changed over time, it’s best to check online which ones are currently available. Your kids will surely love this Google Home feature, and maybe they’ll take less time to get up and prepare for school.
The following snippet shows an example EXECUTE request payload with afollowUpToken field. In the notifications object that you pass in your API call, include apriority value which defines how the notification should be presented. Yournotifications object may include different fields depending on the device trait.
